Client’s Vision
We were entrusted with the project of redesigning our client’s existing Catheterization lab (Cathlab) to adhere to the enhanced infection control and safety norms along with upgrading the medical equipment. Having worked with us in the past, they were confident in our ability to complete the renovation while following austere protocols owing to the then prevailing Novel coronavirus pandemic situation, during all operational phases of the project.

Our Approach for Executing the Project
The planning for the project had begun before the pandemic situation and the subsequent lockdown. However, the execution coincided with the first phase of relaxation of the lockdown, which posed interesting challenges. With complete co-operation from the client, we reshuffled our execution plan by integrating new operational protocols, like the presence of less than five people concurrently, maintaining safe physical distance from one another, regular sanitization and cleanliness, among other safety norms.
The major challenges that we faced in this project were the logistical difficulties in the delivery of materials and the availability of labour. Consistent mapping of timelines, provisioning for contingencies and providing timely progress reports to the client helped us overcome these challenges effectively and ensure completion of the project within the committed time frame, to the complete satisfaction of our client.
Salient Features of This Project
- Planning, redesigning and installation of new Cathlab equipment without hampering the existing services and Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system.
- Completion of the project as per timelines with the implementation of the new operational and safety protocols, while the lockdown restrictions were prevalent.

The project also gave us an in-depth experience on the functional implementation of the new operational and safety protocols thereby, equipping us to take up more inspiring projects, even with the logistical restrictions in place.
